Wellness & Vaccinations

Caring for an animal companion isn’t something you do some of the time. It takes a lifelong commitment. If you wait until your pet becomes ill to bring them in for veterinary care, you could be compromising their chances at enjoying a long, healthy life. Instead, focus on being proactive about your pet’s care, keeping them healthy and preventing illness and disease whenever possible. This is the concept behind wellness care, and it’s one of the most important components of your pet’s ongoing health and happiness. Vineyard Veterinary Hospital offers comprehensive wellness services to help each patient we serve achieve a lifetime of good health.

Through these annual or semi-annual visits, your pet will receive regular physical exams, a customized vaccination plan, parasite prevention and control, nutrition and weight management, behavioral counseling, routine diagnostic testing and anything else deemed necessary to keep them well. Our doctors will work closely with you and get to know your pet so that we can develop a more personalized approach to your companion’s health care. We know your pet is unique, and we want to create a system of care that will support his or her specific needs through every stage of life – from puppy or kittenhood on through the golden years.

By seeing your pet regularly, we are also able to identify potential medical conditions before they’ve had a chance to develop into a more serious and costly problem. When we catch illness and disease in its early stages, we can address it right away, which can vastly improve the chances of a positive outcome. Early detection and disease prevention through wellness care can add years to your pet’s life and improve the quality of those years exponentially.

Another big part of our wellness services, and something which sets our clinic apart from others in the area, is our focus on client education. We believe that you, as your pet’s caregiver, are also their biggest advocate and most trusted ally. That’s why, in everything we do, we work hard to include you as an active participant in your pet’s health care. We want to arm you with all of the tools, education and support you need to keep your companion happy and healthy year-round, in between vet visits.

Finally, but certainly not of less importance, routine wellness visits allow our doctors and support staff to develop a relationship with you, and forge an important, lifelong bond with your pet. It is through this trust and familiarity that we are better able to provide your companion with the best possible chance of enjoying a long, healthy life. At Vineyard Veterinary Hospital, we know you want the absolute best for your pet, and we share that very same goal. It starts with a foundation of wellness care.

Thank you so much for seeing my boy Chief. Our vets office was closed and my boy needed to be seen immediately. Not only did they fit us in, they stayed late, after closing, to ensure my boy was taken care of and I was put at ease. I can't thank you all enough

Dr Totman and his staff saved my baby boy. His organs had begun to shut down at 8 months old and for over a month I thought I would lose him. If it wasn't for this office, he would not be here to bring me joy every single day. The staff here is professional, beyond caring & go above and beyond the extra mile. They take care of your furbaby as if it were their own. I received regular updates when he needed to stay at their office and when I got him home, they called every other day to check up on him. I felt completely confident they were taking the best care of my baby.
I am a fiercely loyal customer once I find an office I can trust and had been taking my furbabies to the same vet my entire life, but I can't say I'd go back to them. Dr Totman and his staff have gained a customer for life. If you take your furbaby anywhere, take them to Dr Totman.

These people are amazing!!! They treat your animals as if they were your own. I had a very difficult case with my Rottweiler with hip dysplasia and they were on top of it from day one!!! Dr. Totman and his staff are simply the best in Temecula. I would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for an honest, knowledgeable, loving vet to care for your animal!!!!!!

We lost our Koufax today, after losing Sandi in March. They both lived 16 wonderful years and were a part of our family almost from the time Ellen and I got married.
The house seems empty and it will be a long while before the sadness wanes, but their memories will always bring smiles to us.

Sandi and Koufax were both taken care of until their last day by the amazingly compassionate staff at Vineyard Veterinary Hospital. Even at their passing, Ellen and I and our dogs felt that we could not have been in better hands.
If in need of someone to care for your dog or cat, I highly recommend Dr. Totman, Joan, Verenice, Ashley and the rest of the staff at Vineyard.
