Diagnostics

Just as with human medicine, not every illness or injury that your pet may be suffering from can always be easily detected on the surface of the skin or even through a thorough external examination. In order to reach an accurate and timely diagnosis, our doctors also need to be able to examine your pet on the inside. That’s where veterinary diagnostics come into play. These tools, technologies and modern pieces of equipment allow us to look below the surface and identify what’s happening inside your pet’s body so that we can diagnose and treat the problem in a timely manner. The sooner we can reach a definitive diagnosis, the better the chances of a positive outcome.

Vineyard Veterinary Hospital provides our patients with access to a wide variety of advanced diagnostic services to help monitor and manage their health for optimum results. We have some of the most up to date diagnostic equipment available, including digital and standard radiology (x-ray) machines, ultrasound and computerized electrocardiogram (ECG). Additionally, our in-house laboratory enables us to quickly evaluate patients that are in need of immediate treatment, with many results available in just minutes. This is especially important for emergency situations, and serious medical conditions or injuries for which time is of the essence.

The routine and advanced diagnostic services available to patients of Vineyard Veterinary Hospital include:

  • Digital Radiology (x-ray)
  • Ultrasound Imaging
  • Computerized ECG
  • Doppler Blood Pressure Measurement
  • Tonopen for Glaucoma Screening
  • CBC
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecal Testing

If you believe your pet may have suffered an injury, is feeling sick or is just not acting like their normal, happy self, the first step in helping them is scheduling a diagnostic analysis. Rest assured that whatever is bothering them, we’re prepared to get to the bottom of it so we can get them back on the road to good health again as soon as possible.
